Cougar Hunts

Our Okanagan area is well known to be the home of some of the largest Mountain Lions in the world. Our average tom is between 165 and 185lbs with some weighing over 200lbs. We limit our harvest numbers therefore making for great opportunity and high population of these big cougars. A large percentage of the mountain lions harvested make boon and crocket. This hunt consists of using pick-ups, jeeps or snowmobiles to locate tracks. The locating of the tracks is best left up to the guides.

This can be a very physically demanding part of the hunt and can be in some harsh conditions. It is a time sensitive issue to get the hounds onto the track as quickly. Once we’ve located the track you will be involved in the hunt from there on in. You will be there from the release of the hounds to the remainder of the hunt, until the harvest of your mountain lion. Once treed, we find the safest and easiest route to approach for harvest. This is by far one of the most action-packed and exciting hunts you will ever experience! We have great respect for these animals and make sure they are harvested in a timely manner.

Our houndsmen are true professionals and the dogs used on these hunts are members of the family. We pride ourselves in the fact that we have some of the top dogs in the industry.

The cougar hunt can be incorporated into a moose/cougar combo or any combination of Lynx or Bobcat. These combinations hunts are great for a family or a group that wants to hunt at the same time. Hunt dates run from November 15th to March 31st. Contact for pricing.
